We was invited to quote for this garage conversion following a recommendation from a previous customer, the clients had an old derelict brick store in their rear garden. The garage structure had a low asbestos roof and rotten timber windows and doors, the clients visioned a light airy outdoor office space leading to a covered outdoor space with an attached pergola to enjoy the garden in all weathers.

We worked closely with the customers to design a functional space that met their requirements while utilising the latest energy efficient materials to achieve new building regulation requirements.

Firstly we had our specialist contractor safely remove and dispose of the old asbestos roofing sheets, we then removed all the old undersized and rotten roof timbers, doors and windows.

Secondly we created the cut out for the 3m sliding patio doors, cut out for the side door leading to the covered area and installed a new foundation bricked up the old garage door.

As the ceiling height was a problem we raised the brickwork and created a new warm deck roofing system with energy efficient flat roof skylights and a EPDM roof covering.

We then had our NICEIC registered Electricians create a new electrical feed into the garage for new down lights, air conditioning unit and sockets including a new cat 6 cable for an internet point.

The garage was then fully converted with the required insulation, fully plastered and second fix carpentry works including the attached covered area and pergola.

The whole project was carried out on time and to budget with building control sign off and certification. The result, very happy customers that can new enjoy working from home in their warm, light airy new space.
